Football Centerpiece Instructions

Items Needed:-paper towel roll -yellow, brown and green construction paper -black pipe cleaners -black marker -pencil -scissors -glue (or tape)
Instructions: -Glue the brown construction paper around the paper towel roll -Cut out a circle from the green construction paper approximately 10 inches across -Place the paper towel roll in the middle of the green circle you just cut out and draw and trace it on the green paper -From the center of the green circle, cut 4 lines from the center out to the circle you just traced -Glue the top of the green paper and from the bottom, press the flaps that you just created against the inside of the paper towel roll -Using the black marker draw lines on the green construction paper from the paper towel roll to the outside edge. Then label them in increments of 10 (10, 20, 30, etc.) going around the entire paper towel roll -Using more brown construction paper, draw an outline of a football. Using the black marker, draw a line down the middle with 5 smaller lines going across. Cut out approximately 7 footballs (just depends on how full you want your centerpiece) -Glue or tape the football onto the end of a pipe cleaner. (The pipe cleaner should be approximately 8 inches long) Repeat for all footballs -(Your parent will have to help with this one) Using the end of the scissor (or even a screwdriver) push a hole through the paper towel roll towards the top (this is where you will put the pipe cleans - so space them out) -Stuff the pipe cleaner into the holes that you just created. Bend the pipe cleaner to your liking -To make the top, draw a field goal post on the yellow construction paper. This should look like an "H". Make it just wider than the width of the paper towel roll -Place the field goal post in the top of the paper towel roll
