Firetruck Shoebox Instructions



Items Needed:

-Shoebox
-Red Construction Paper or Red Wrapping Paper or Red Paint
-Light Blue, White, Yellow
-Black Construction Paper and/or black paint
-Yellow Pipe Cleaner
-Small Red and White pom poms
-Scissors
-Glue or Tape

Instructions:

-Cover the box with the red construction paper or wrapping paper or just paint the box red. Make sure not wrap it shut.
-Cut our 2 squares and 2 rectangles of the light blue construction paper. This will be the windows. Glue or tape the squares to one end of the shoebox which will be the front and glue or tape one rectangle on either side of the shoebox close to the front end.
-Cut out a strip of white construction paper the goes the a little more than the width of the shoebox. This will be the bumper. Glue or tape that strip on the front towards the bottom and have it wrap around each side.
-Cut our 2 small circles from the yellow construction paper. These will be the lights. Glue or tape them on the front of the box just above the bumper and just under the windows.
-Cut out 2 strips of black construction paper the goes a little less than 1/2 the length of the shoebox. This will be the side. Glue or tape the black construction paper on either side of the shoebox on the lid portion.
-Cut the yellow pipe cleaner and glue it just above the black construction paper so that it looks like a ladder.
-Alternating the white and red pom poms, glue them to the top of the shoebox towards the front.
-Cut out 4 larger circles of the cardboard. Cover them with the black construction paper (or paint if it is easier). Cut 4 small circles our of white construction paper. Glue or tape those in the middle of each of the black circles.
-Glue or tape the black circles so that they barley hang below the shoebox - put 2 on either side - one towards the front and one towards the back.
