Indian Headband Instructions

Items Needed:-Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple Construction Paper -Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple Pipe Cleaner -Scissors -Glue -Tape
Instructions: -Cut a strip of brown paper that is long enough to wrap around your child's head. This should be approximately 1 inch thick. (You might need to glue 2 pieces together to make it long enough). -Cut a piece of brown paper in a half circle that is approximately 5 inches wide. It should be about 2 and a half inches tall. Glue this so the straight edge of the half circle and the bottom edge of the brown strip are even and the half circle is centered on the brown strip. -Cut a strip of red paper the same width as the widest part of the half circle. This should be approximately 3/4" inch thick. Glue this piece so the the bottom edge of this, the half circle and the brown strip are all even on the bottom and it covers the half circle. -Cut a strip of yellow paper that is the same width as the red strip. This should also be approximately 3/4" inch thick. Glue this to the half circle just above the red strip. -Cut 2 purple triangles, 2 orange triangles, 1 red triangle and 1 and a half green triangles. These triangles should be as tall as the width of the yellow strip. Glue the triangles on top of the yellow strip, alternating colors and allowing yellow to creating it's own triangles. -Cut a piece of purple paper so that it is about 7 inches tall and 1 inch wide and rounded on one end. Using the scissors, make slits around all edges except the bottom straight edge. This makes 1 feather. -Repeat the last step using the green, red, orange and yellow paper. This will make 4 more feathers. -Glue the same color pipe cleaner onto each of the feathers. (You might need to lay a book on them to make them stay) -Fanning the feathers out, glue them separately to the back of the half circle. -Connect the 2 ends of the brown strip to fit snug around your child's head. Tape the ends together.
