Valentine Mailbox Instructions

Items Needed:-Pink, Red and White Construction Paper (Foam board would work better) -Red and Silver Glitter Glue or any other decorations such as stickers or markers -Decorative Edging (such as beads and ribbon) -Red Pipe Cleaner -Scissors -Glue
Instructions: -Using a sheet of pink paper (approximately 8 1/2 by 11), fold the edges on the short side about a 1/2 inch on both sides. -Starting at one edge of a piece of red paper, glue the folded portion of the pink paper to it. One of the folded edges of the pink paper should line up perfectly with the edge of the red paper. Glue the other folded portion of the pink paper and bend it and glue it to the red paper, approximately 6 inches from the first fold. Cut the red paper so that the second fold and the edge of the red paper line up perfectly. -Trace the end of the dome onto white paper. Cut the paper approximately 1/2 inch larger than what you just traced. On he straight edge, cut a line at the corners. Starting at one end, fold along the traced line. Glue the folded section and place it inside on end of the dome. Reach in the dome from the other end to help press the glued section to the dome. -Trace the other end of the dome onto red paper. Cut the paper approximately 1/2 inch larger than what you traced on the rounded section and approximately 1 inch larger on the straight edge. On the straight edge, cut a line at the corners. Starting at one end, fold along the traced line. -Cut a strip of white paper approximately 3/4 inch by 11 inches. Glue this strip to the folded section from the previous step. -Glue the 1 inch straight part to the inside of the open section of the dome. -Cut a flag from white paper. Twist one end of a pipe cleaner and stick it through the bottom of the flag. Then stick the pipe cleaner into the mailbox. Bend it and cut off excess pipe cleaner. -Decorate your mailbox to make it special either by using glitter glue or stickers or beads or ribbons.
